Q. If I sign up for 12-months is there a tie-in for the following year?

NO!  Nearer the time we will of obviously call to advise you that your membership is up for renewal, but whether or not you decide to renew your membership is entirely up to you.

Q. Can anybody write what they want about me? Could my competitors manipulate my scores?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  We have put a series of mechanisms in place to ensure that the website and its contents are not manipulated: 

(1) Before being able to rate a member business all consumers must register their details with us and activate their account.

(2) We actively encourage consumers reviewing a business to be both positive and constructive in their feedback. All reviews are personally checked by a member of our Administration Team.  lookthemp.co.uk reserves the right not to publish reviews which they believe to be false, unconstructive or contain inappropriate language. 

(3) Once approved by a member of our Administration Team, all reviews are published to the site.  However, if in the unlikely event that you believe a review to be inaccurate then you can 'query' it in your 'members area'.  All 'queried' reviews are temporarily removed from the site until they have been investigated and validated.

Q. Why would one of my customers want to rate my business?

Believe it or not, consumers like to give their opinion.  Indeed, research has shown that when we have a positive 'customer experience' then we will be only too happy to take the time to pass on our appreciation and recommendation.  But, if that isn't enough, everyone who registers to rate a listed business will be automatically entered into our annual prize draw to win £1000!

Q. When I register to rate a listed business what happens to my personal details? 

When you register to rate a listed business your personal details are filed away in our database.  They remain confidential at all times and ARE NOT shared with any other individuals, businesses or third party organisations.  We strongly recommend you to create a user name to protect your anonymity when rating member businesses.

Q. I have just tried to search for something but it has brought back 0 results!  Is there something wrong with the site?

Absolutely not!  It just means that we don't currently have your selected business in your chosen town listed with us at the moment.  Obviously the site has just launched but we are working hard to populate our database as quickly as possible.  Clearly, if you are a business thinking of registering with us, don't let this put you off - there's nothing wrong with being the first!

Q. Do lookthemup.co.uk act as 'middlemen' or vet listed businesses?

NO!  We simply make your details available on the site and let potential customers contact you directly.
